The 28-year-old home baker and teacher — who was crowned champion of the amateur baking competition series' 14th season last year — married Lara Lucienne on Friday, May 31. He announced the news on Instagram, sharing a series of photos from the couple's gorgeous countryside nuptials at South Farm in Hertfordshire, England.

In a follow-up post, which he jointly shared on Instagram with his wife, Edgell featured video highlights from the wedding. Clips show aerial views of the stunning venue, the bride getting ready with her bridesmaids, Edgell nervously awaiting Lucienne's arrival in her gown at the ceremony, and the couple exchanging vows inside a gazebo.

"The best day of our lives from start to finish! Here’s a little sneak peek into our wedding day with massive thanks to our hugely talented videographer @weddingfilmsbycallum 👰🏼‍♀️🤵🏽‍♂️.Can’t wait to watch the full video back and relive the day!" the couple wrote in the caption.

They also included a little advice for future grooms and brides-to-be hoping for favorable weather on their special day. "Top tip from us is to plant a sausage in your garden the night before the wedding…this kept the rain away for enough time for us to get married outside. It works 😂."

"Through the highs and lows of my journey, you picked me up countless times, supported me and gave me the confidence I needed each week. Without you I wouldn’t have been able to do any of it (literally, Lara, I now thank you for applying for me 😂) ❤️," he wrote at the time.

In the finale episode, Lucienne explained that she knew she needed to give her now-husband a gentle push to help him realize his GBBO dream.

"He would never have applied for himself," she said. "It's just not in his nature. He's not braggy. I wanted him to be a part of something like this to show to him how amazing he is. Because doesn't matter how much I tell him, he doesn't believe me."
