The Great British Sewing Bee is back for another year, welcoming 12 new contestants into the warehouse. Now in its third week, the show takes place at Sunny Bank Mills in Leeds. It celebrates its 10th series this year, with a whole range of different contestants taking part.

Contestants on the show this year include a festival and club DJ, a singer inspired by 1980s fashion, a non-binary person hoping to break gender stereotypes, and the show's oldest-ever competitor at 81.

Who has left the show so far?

Neil - eliminated in week 1

Neil is a woodwork instructor in Leicester.⁣

Neil was the first contestant to be eliminated from the competition. Some fans shared on social media that they thought there should be no eliminations in the first week.

One fan noted: "I don't think anyone should go in the first week. They’ve not really had a chance to show what they can do."

Comfort - eliminated in week 2

Comfort, a self-employed designer and business manager started sewing after giving birth to her first child and feeling she was lacking creativity.⁣

Sadly, her journey came to an end in week 2 of the competition. "Loved her, she seems like such a sunshine of a person," a Comfort fan said on social media.

On her Instagram, Comfort shared her thoughts about leaving the show: "It’s a Wrap! The most incredible adventure has come to an end! While I didn’t take home the win on #TheGreatBritishSewingBee, the journey has been absolutely transformative," she said.

She added: "From the heart-pounding challenges to the supportive friendships, every stitch taught me something new about myself and my passion for creativity.

"While I may not have taken home the crown, the friendships, the lessons, and the sheer joy of creating on the Great British Sewing Bee will stay with me forever. This experience was a wild ride, pushing me outside my comfort zone and reminding me of the wise words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: “It’s not the destination, it’s the journey.”

Janet - eliminated in week 3

Janet is a retired market trader and loves to make glamorous dresses for her dance classes.

She was eliminated in Holiday Week, and was a fan favourite. Some took to social media to complain, with one person saying: "We must protect Janet at all costs - I’d happily go on a ladies’ getaway to the Riviera with her and Val from Bake Off #SewingBee."

But not everyone agreed, with another person saying: "Janet just doesn't follow the brief & just does her own thing."
