Great Eastern appoints former CPF CEO, Ng Chee Peng, as non-executive and independent director

Ng is currently the senior advisor at the MOM and CPF Board, as well as the board committee for transformation at PUB.

Great Eastern Holdings (GEH) has appointed Ng Chee Peng as non-executive and independent director on March 1.

Ng was the former CEO of the CPF Board from 2015 and 2019. He was the previous Chief of the Republic of Singapore Navy from 2011 to 2014.

Ng is currently the senior advisor at the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and CPF Board, as well as the board committee for transformation at PUB.

In addition, Ng is the chairman of the audit committee at D’Crypt, a cryptographic tech firm that was acquired by Temasek Holdings in August 2019.

On the appointment, GEH says it has been “on the watch for suitable persons to contribute to the group”, and that Ng “possesses the requisite experience and expertise which would enable him to contribute positively to the effectiveness of the Board”.

Shares in GEH closed 32 cents lower or 1.5% down at $21.40 on Feb 26.
