Gujarat's plan size gets Rs 59000 cr from Planning Commission

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi who on Tuesday met Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia at Yojana Bhawan said that the Planning Commission has approved Rs 59,000 crore plan for Gujarat as compared to Rs 58,500 crore sought. Gujarat chief further said that Gujarat Government has dedicated 42% of its allotment to the social sector for the poor and downtrodden and Gujarat is working towards growth of all sections of society and it contributes a good share to the GDP. The Planning Commission discussed the State's plan with Modi. The Delhi police took over the security of Yojana Bhawan, which houses the Planning Commission, and sealed all entry and exit points.
