A Louisiana gym owner is sharing an adorable lesson about lending a hand!

Catherine Takawira, who owns Ignited Force Gym in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, took care of a member’s baby during a step aerobics class, and used the moment to post a piece of wisdom about community.

Last month, Takawira shared a video of herself participating in the aerobics class while holding the little one — who bounced calmly along with her — on Instagram, where it garnered more than 117,000 likes.

In the caption, she called the moment a “nod to the incredible strength of mothers who strive to find time for self-care without guilt,” and shared a bit more context.

“This week, I had the privilege of looking after a member’s little one during our step class @ignitedforce,” the owner wrote. “A great reminder to be kind, always. You never know the impact you can have by choosing to be kind & lend a hand.”

Takawira continued, "There are so many lessons I’ve learnt about community & customer service over the last few months. Of course everyone dreams of the monetary benefits you can achieve by starting a business, BUT I’ve found there are greater rewards when you focus on truly servicing your community out of genuine care.”

“The love to serve will get you through the days when business isn’t so great, whether you’re showing up for 1 person or 50, you show up because you care,” she finished.

In the comment section of the video, the gym owner was met with praise for both the sweet gesture and her overall message about community.

"An example of ‘Empowered women empower women,’ “ one person wrote, while another commented, “Because ‘it takes a village’ is real!!”

Another commenter joked about the baby falling asleep during the high-energy class, writing, “Baby going to sleep like he been exercising,” to which Takawira replied with laughing emojis.
