During the second episode of Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up, Gypsy-Rose Blanchard opened up about her initial breakup in 2019 with her former fiancé Ken Urker.

While driving from Missouri to Louisiana during the episode — which was filmed in late 2023 — Blanchard tells her husband Ryan Scott Anderson that her ex-fiancé Ken Urker texted her stepmother Kristy to say he's happy that Blanchard was out of prison.

"And of course Kristy let you know about it," Anderson responds, later adding, "Too late, buddy."

Blanchard then explains how she and Urker dated for two years, beginning in 2017, while she was in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in connection with her mother Dee Dee's death.

"Even though he was in the free world, and I was in prison, this was my first actual relationship that was long term," Blanchard says of Urker during the episode. "Right before we were going to get married, he ended the relationship. It devastated me. I think he pretty much gave me every breakup line the book."

Blanchard married Anderson in a prison ceremony in July 2022 and was released from prison early in December 2023.

Although she and Anderson initially seemed happy living together, three months after her prison release, Blanchard announced that the pair had separated.

"People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately my husband and I are going through a separation and I moved in with my parents home down the bayou. I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find… who I am," she wrote in a statement previously obtained by PEOPLE from her private Facebook account.

Shortly after her separation, in April, Blanchard met up with her ex-fiancé Urker for lunch and got a matching tattoo with him. The following month, she confirmed that she and Urker were back together, calling him her "first love."

Amid her breakup, "Ken was that support for me when going through this emotional hardship of crying and then being okay and then crying," Blanchard previously told PEOPLE. "Then I let myself open up to the feelings that I've always had for Ken. Those feelings just don't die."
