Hair shadow, the Korean beauty product that can make hairlines look fuller
We obviously can’t get enough of Korean beauty products that work. This time, we’re focusing on the hair shadow, which helps to make hairlines look fuller so you can dazzle with that ponytail without feeling insecure about your wide forehead. And yes, they can make your face look smaller too!
If we can contour our faces, cleavage, neck, and even collarbones, why not our hairlines too, right?
So it looks like South Korean girls have been filling their hairlines with these hair shadows to create the appearance of a fuller and more even hairline. The effect is immediate and dramatic, making your hair look luscious almost as soon as you apply it.
These products contain pigments and powders in brown or black that are designed to mimic the colour of your natural hair. All you then have to do is use these products to shade in any gaps in your hairline, especially areas near your temple, where the hair tends to thin.
An informative video by Youtuber Tina Yong shows you just what magic hair shadow can work. We’ve also listed all the hair shadow products available on various retail sites that offer shipping to Singapore.
Mamonde Pang Pang Hair Shadow
Mamonde’s Pang Pang Hair Shadow (what a cute name) was one of the first products on the market for the sole purpose of creating a fuller hairline. Prior to this, most people just used regular brown or black eyeshadow to fill in any gaps in their hairline. It comes in three colours (Baby Face Hair, Light Brown and Reddish Brown) and there’s a cushion puff applicator attached. Simply dip the applicator in the pressed powder and apply to your hairline. It’s water-resistant and can be easily removed with facial cleanser or shampoo.

Holika Holika Wonder Drawing Hairline Maker
Holika Holika’s Wonder Drawing Hairline Maker comes in nifty pen form with a sponge applicator, making it suitable for filling smaller and trickier areas. Customers who have tried it have commented on how natural it looks, and it’s also apparently slightly water-resistant. As a bonus, you can also use it on your eyebrows!

The Face Shop Quick Hair Shadow
This long-lasting hair shadow promises to last up to two days, and each compact contains two shades for you to mix and match to your own hair colour. The creamy formula contains black bean extract and moringa oil, promising to nourish your hair. However, reviewers have said that it’s not suitable for anyone taking part in physical activities as the colour may run. The hair shadow comes in a compact case with a mirror and a brush applicator.

Etude House Hot Style Photo Hair Liner
Unlike the other products on this list, Etude House’s Photo Hair Liner comes in a dual-ended pencil form, with a creamy formula on one end and a sponge applicator on the other. This mess-free pen is available in two shades, dark brown and light brown. To apply, all you have to do is colour in with the pencil tip, then blend it out with the sponge end, similar to how you contour with stick foundations. Reviewers have noted that it’s water and sweat-resistant, which is a plus.

3CE Hair Line Shadow
Think most hairline products don’t suit your hair colour? Then perhaps this Hair Line Shadow from 3CE may do the trick. They come in two different palettes (natural ash and copper brown) with each of them consisting of three different shades. Pick the right colour for your hair by mixing some of these shades together. Each palette also come with a handy mirror and brush. As the powder, which absorbs oil and sweat, is heavily pigmented, be sure to use a light hand.
