Hairy Bikers star Si King has shared a message ahead of the memorial day for his late co-star Dave Myers.

Thousands of motorcyclists will take part in Dave Day to celebrate the life of Myers, who passed away in February after a two-year battle with cancer.

The bikers will take part in a cavalcade that will depart from London on Saturday (June 8) morning, before arriving in Myer's home town of Barrow-in-Furness in the late afternoon.

The remembrance procession has been organised by volunteers and will be led by King and Myers' friend Jason Woodcock.

King posted a Reel on Instagram earlier this week (June 5), in which he shared his excitement ahead of the special bike ride.

"Hello lovely humans. Just to say I'm really really looking forward to seeing everybody on Saturday for the Day of Dave ride out," he said.

"I think we're going to have a great day and thank you all very much for all the support and all of those taking part. Be safe and be courteous to one another and we'll have a smashing day, so I'll see you all there. You're getting the beers in."

The event will culminate in a service of remembrance around Barrow Town Hall, as well as special performances from bands, plays and a concert.

Performers include the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the cast of School of Rock and local rock band The AeroBees.

Dave Day will also have a special food court with a variety of local vendors who previously worked with Myers on various projects.

Ahead of Dave Day, King previously announced the launch of a new Hairy Bikers beer on Instagram, alongside a picture of himself having a beer in front of a campfire.

The post featured a heartwarming tribute to Myers, with a second beer bottle poignantly left on the table next the King.

Fans quickly took to the comments to share their tributes to Dave, with one writing: "I notice you have a beer for Dave too. Heart wrenching and heartwarming simultaneously."

Another added: "Very poignant photo Si. I think we should all get one & raised a toast to Dave the legend," while a third commented: "Always and forever The Hairy Bikers."
