Halle Bailey Cuddles Up with Baby Son Halo in Sweet Photo as She Celebrates Her Birthday: 'This Is 24'

The actress announced she welcomed her first baby with boyfriend DDG in December

Halle Bailey is celebrating her birthday with help from her little boy.

On Thursday, The Little Mermaid actress, 24, posted a carousel of photos on her Instagram as she celebrated her 24th birthday. In the first photo, Bailey was covered in mud and cradled her baby boy Halo, whose face was blurred out.

She also included a picture of boyfriend DDG, 26, who had "Halo's Daddy" written in mud on his back, and a sweet photo of the mother-son duo as Halo kissed his mom on the cheek.

"This is 24 🥰🎉💘🎂," wrote Bailey, who quietly welcomed her son last year.

After losing in a few categories at the 2024 NAACP Awards earlier this month, Bailey's boyfriend DDG gave her the most important award of all as he hosted a fake awards show at their home.

In a video posted to his Snapchat, the rapper gave the proud mom several awards, including one for "best mother."

“I want to give this award out for the best one ever, and this award goes to the one and only, Halle Bailey. For the best mother award, wooo!" DDG said in the clip as Bailey held Halo.

“I’m crying,” Bailey said, wiping away tears. “Thank you.”

In February, Bailey also opened up to PEOPLE about why she chose her son’s unique name.

“It was actually my boyfriend's idea,” the star shared. “He's the one who came up with his name.”

“We just agreed, and we loved it,” she continued. “I love the name Halo."

Sharing whether there was a connection between her son’s name and her mentor Beyoncé’s song "Halo," Bailey said with a laugh, “He for sure has a theme song.”

Speaking about motherhood, the artist also told PEOPLE that “it's so exciting, this new role for me,” adding that she's “obsessed with my baby boy” and “he's the sweetest angel in the world."
