Hard-Fi have returned with their first new music in a decade, 'Don't Go Making Plans', from their upcoming EP of the same name.

The Richard Archer-fronted indie group are back with summery banger, which is ironically a protest song about clashes between police in the UK and members of the public at demonstrations.

The frontman explained: “A track that you can still dance to in a club or play on the radio, because a song like that you can make a real connection to and circumnavigates the pointless restrictions being put in our way. Governments passing laws to stop protests that 'cause more than minor disruption feels like something out of a dystopian film. The whole point of protest is disruption. You're trying to interrupt the inevitable flow of things, to encourage the people running the country to think again, especially when you have a government that doesn't seem to be bothered by what people actually need."

The full EP is set to follow on November 1, in time for a 10-date UK headline tour that month.

Pre-sale takes place May 22 at 10am for those signed up in advance at https://hard-fi.planet.fans/aaa/register, otherwise, all dates go on general sale on May 24, at 10am (BST).

The 'Hard to Beat' rockers - whose last studio album was 2011's UK Top 10 'Killer Sounds' - can't wait to share their new material with fans alongside classics such as 'Cash Machine' and 'Living for the Weekend' at their upcoming gigs.

Richard added: "Playing gigs together really rekindled the fire at the heart of the band, and as much as we enjoyed playing our older songs - and audiences loved hearing them.

"We all felt the urge to create something new."

'Don't Go Making Plans' follows the 2014 song 'Move Over', which appeared on the 'Hard-Fi: Best of 2004–2014' CD.
