A Black Lady Sketch Show has been cancelled by HBO after four seasons.

The acclaimed sketch series, which was created by star Robin Thede, first premiered in 2019 and focuses on the world from Black women's point-of-view.

However, HBO has confirmed that the recently-aired fourth season of the Emmy-winning show served as its final outing, as Thede thanked those involved in a statement.

Bridget Stokes also became the first Black woman to earn a Directing for a Variety Series prize, while the series itself is the first Black women-led sketch show to earn an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series.

The series has also featured a number of big names, including Marvel's Angela Bassett, Abbott Elementary's Quinta Brunson and Orange is the New Black's Laverne Cox.
