Heather Rae El Moussa's Followers Roast Her for Video Learning to 'Twerk’: ‘Sending Thoughts and Prayers’

Heather Rae El Moussa is receiving some less-than-glowing reviews from her followers after trying her hand at a new-to-her dance.

The Selling Sunset alum, 36, performed a choreography that has been going viral on TikTok for her husband Tarek, 42, in an Instagram Reel on Monday, June 17.

“Day 1 learning how to twerk,” Heather wrote in white text over the video. In the caption, she added, “How’d I do? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Be nice guys 😂.”

Tarek made sure to tell his wife that she is “🔥🔥🔥 looking fiiine!” in the comments.

While the Flip or Flop alum approved of his wife’s new dance moves, Heather’s followers flocked to the comments section to share their much more mixed opinions.

“Girl, if you sold houses the same way you twerk you’d be broke😂😂,” one person told the celebrity real estate agent, followed by another adding, “Love you heather and sending thoughts and prayers during this time 😂.”

A different user joked, “Hahaha don’t give up your day job 😂”

Meanwhile, others praised Heather for giving the dance her best effort.

“Okaaayy girl. A for effort 🙏🏾,” one person said. Another added, “Better than ME that’s for sure! 😂 👏🏽.”

The Flipping El Moussas couple frequently make playful videos together to share with their followers on social media — especially since announcing their new show, The Flip Off, which will also star Tarek’s ex-wife Christina Hall and her husband Josh.

The series is set to premiere in 2025 and will mark Tarek and Christina's first time working together since Flip or Flop ended after nine years in March 2022.

Heather and Tarek — who got married in 2021 and welcomed their son Tristan in 2023 — recently found themselves facing some backlash after sharing a promo skit that some of their followers found offensive.

In the video that was posted jointly to the couple’s Instagram accounts on June 4, Heather appears to approach her husband from behind as she throws a garbage bag over his head. She then tosses the bag over her shoulder and then into a trash can.

“When your husband tells you we’re filming a show with his ex wife,” reads the text over the video, set to the tune of JoJo’s 2004 hit "Leave (Get Out).”

“Stepping into drama, while taking out the trash,” the couple captioned the post.

In the comments, users were quick to voice their concern over the nature of the video.

“Noooooo,” one comment read. “This isn’t funny. This is very violent and there have been too many REAL LIFE murders like this. Don’t want to rain on your parade but change the optics.”

“I agree, not funny at all!” echoed another user.

Tarek responded to one comment in defense of the skit, writing, “in this case it’s a husband and a wife playing.”
