Hedi Slimane designs bespoke stagewear for Keith Richards

The creative director and famous music fan has designed a selection of bespoke Saint Laurent outfits for The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards.

Music-mad Saint Laurent designer Hedi Slimane has imagined clothes for one of rock 'n' roll's biggest names, the celebrated guitarist and member of The Rolling Stones, Keith Richards.

The looks were created as part of the ongoing 'Saint Laurent Stage Wear by Hedi Slimane' project, which has already seen the Parisian creative design outfits for French electro-funk outfit Daft Punk's comeback this year.

The pieces include a waistcoat, the 'Keith' café racer jacket, and t-shirts, as well as some of Richards's famed silk scarves. The Keith jacket will go on sale for $4,850 online soon, with the rest of the Stage Wear collection following after.

Slimane is famed for his rock diary, a selection of musicians photographed by the Parisian creative, and has recently shot Saint Laurent campaigns featuring rock legends Kim Gordon, Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love.

Something of a style icon himself, Keith Richards's jaunty look was famously used by actor Johnny Depp as inspiration for his character Captain Jack Sparrow in 'Pirates of the Caribbean' films.

The band's '50 Years and Counting Tour' kicked off last October with two secret gigs in Paris. Currently on the American leg of the tour, the Stones will return to Europe to headline the famous Glastonbury music festival before heading to London's Hyde Park for two sell-out appearances.
