Hikaru Utada drops new album Bad Mode and holds online concert
Hikaru Utada released a new album Bad Mode and an online concert this Wednesday (19 January), which happens to be her birthday.
Apart from the titular song Bad Mode, the new album packed with 14 songs features hits such as Kimini Muchuu, the theme song for the popular Japanese drama Dearest; One Last Kiss and Beautiful World (Da Capo Version), the theme songs for the Evangelion 2021 anime film; and Face My Fears (in both Japanese and English), the opening song for the action role-playing game Kingdom Hearts.
Other songs include Pink Blood, Time, Darenimo Iwanai, and Find Love, which have been used in commercials, anime and J-dramas.
There are also brand new songs like Kibunja Naino (Not In The Mood) and Somewhere Near Marseilles, and bonus tracks like Kireina Hito, the Japanese version of Find Love, and Face My Fears (A.G. Cook Remix).
The music video of Bad Mode, directed by Joe Conner, known for works like Sam Smith’s Pray and Coldplay’s Everglow, premiered during a pre-recorded online concert Hikaru Utada Live Sessions from Air Studios on 19 January.

Tickets to the digital concert are priced at 2,800yen (around S$33) each, which comes with a downloadable digital invitation card.
Tickets to stream the online concert on-demand are still available till 23 January and can be purchased from various platforms.
