Hollyoaks has said goodbye to Grace Black as the soap aired actress Tamara Walls' final scenes on tonight's E4 first-look episode (July 18).

Grace has been in prison since the failed bank heist after she took the fall to save Cindy Cunningham and Zara Morgan.

Earlier this month viewers had seen Grace enlist James Nightingale to represent her and the two soon hatched a plan to have Grace secretly record the prison governor who she was having an affair with.

Grace hoped that she could use the footage to blackmail the governor into having her transferred to Glasgow to be near her son.

In tonight's episode, Grace was seen in her cell with the recording device set up as the prison governor came in to visit her.

With the footage successfully recorded, Grace met James to hand it over. But during the visit, James informed Grace that Cindy had been admitted to hospital following a bipolar episode.

Before leaving their meeting, Grace left James with a message, telling him: "At least I know my legacy will live on, every village needs a villain." When he protested that he wasn't a villain, Grace added: "Remember I am and will always be the OG queen."

Later in her cell, Grace called Cindy and told her she needed to get help. "Consider this a you owe me one," Grace said. "Please get better because some day I am going to get out of here and when I do you are going to buy me a drink."

Grace's final moments saw her tell the prison governor to warn the inmates in Glasgow: "There's a new bitch on the block."

Following her exit, Wall sent a message to fans thanking them for their support during her decade on the soap.

"What an unbelievable decade," Wall said. "Coming in here I was so nervous about how the character would go down and you were all so lovely. All the fans were just brilliant and you grabbed hold of her with both arms and you've loved her ever since and I can't thank you fans enough for constantly being behind Grace."

Wall also confirmed to OK Magazine that it wasn't her decision to leave the soap, calling her axing, "absolutely devastating".'
