Hollyoaks airs powerful scenes for Juliet and Donna-Marie after drug relapse

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Emotions ran high for the Nightingales in tonight's (April 20) Hollyoaks. The brand new episode of the Channel 4 soap saw Juliet returning home with her girlfriend Peri, letting everyone believe she received the stem cell transplant.

But something different took Juliet's mind off lying to her family when she walked in on Donna-Marie taking drugs, with her mum admitting she had been working in the sex industry to buy them.

A shocked Juliet accused her mum of being a "screw-up," despite James taking responsibility for having neglected Donna-Marie at such a difficult time.

However, Juliet wouldn't listen and told Donna-Marie she wouldn't waste more time worrying about her, storming out and leaving her mum in tears.

At Peri's house, Leela and Ste helped Juliet see things from a different perspective, making her realise Donna-Marie needed her help.

Juliet got back home just in time to stop her mum from going away with Harold. In a powerful moment, Juliet told her how much she was loved, begging her to stay.

"I can't do this without you," Juliet pleaded as she and Donna-Marie broke down and got back home together.

"I'm gonna ring my sponsor in the morning and go back to my support group cause I need to be strong for you," Donna-Marie then promised Juliet.

They reconciled with James, vowing to be by each other's side and sealing the moment with a hug.

Meanwhile, Romeo was hurt not to have been informed of Juliet's return and tried to call his sister to no avail. Later on at Peri's, the nurse was too upset to continue covering up for Juliet and confronted her, but her girlfriend avoided the discussion and went to bed.

When will she be ready to tell her loved ones she didn't receive the transplant?

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
