Hollyoaks airs three surprise appearances in post-credits scene

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks aired emotional scenes in tonight's (July 4) first look episode as the village came together for Juliet Nightingale's funeral.

Despite a no show from Juliet's brother Romeo, her friends and family went ahead and said goodbye in a way Juliet would have approved of – by dancing to Shaggy's 'Boombastic'.

A scene after the credits then showed Juliet's friend Ollie Morgan at her graveside.

"Hey Jules, sorry I'm late and I missed the big send-off," he said. "But, hey, at least I'm not alone. Got some of your old crew with me."

He then showed his phone where Imran was waiting via FaceTime.

"So this is weird," Imran said. "Can't believe you're really gone. You know, you helped save my life. I'm only here because of you. I'll never forget you."

Ollie then switched calls to drag queen Danny Beard, who said: "Those words were nice and all. But to me you'll always be the fierce Little Miss Scallytastic that I fell for on the road trip back from Brighton. So, sweet dreams my little warrior."

Ollie, played by Gabriel Clark, was last seen in Hollyoaks a year ago. He left for a new job in Canada following the death of his dad, Luke.

Imran (Ijaz Rana), meanwhile, only left the village a few weeks ago. He moved to London after Juliet encouraged him to chase his dreams.

And viewers will remember Danny Beard from the special Brighton episode featuring Juliet and partner Peri – a role that even saw Danny feature in the opening titles.

The special scene ended with a tearful Ollie adding: "Sweet dreams, Jules."

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
