While this is the presenter's first time appearing on Hollyoaks, Katy is pretty well-connected with the soap, as her husband is former Kyle Kelly actor Adam Rickitt.

As a self-described "lifelong fan of Hollyoaks", Katy said it was an "absolute honour" to be asked to do a cameo in the soap.

"When I found out I'd be on hand to help the Hollyoaks High students open their GCSE results it also brought a smile to my face," Katy said.

"It's a day I've covered every year without fail for Good Morning Britain and remains a highlight witnessing such a life-changing event."

She continued: "My day on set was amazing... from the minute you pull up you are submerged in the village, and it was incredible picking out all the landmarks."

Katy added how much she enjoyed working with Ashley Taylor Dawson and Ela-May Demircan, saying she was "learning from the best" while on set.

"As someone who spends most of their time in a three-man band (myself, camera and sound) it was incredible witnessing such a large and smooth operation and everyone was so supportive and friendly," she also shared.

"I really hope GMB are called in to report on more newsworthy events in Hollyoaks land, and we all know there are plenty of those!"

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
