Hollyoaks will air some upsetting scenes for Donna-Marie Quinn as she struggles following the death of her daughter Juliet.

In an episode set to air soon, Rayne Royce and Nadira Valli bring over a planter as a memorial for Juliet, but Donna-Marie snaps and smashes it in her grief. Felix manages to come over and calm down the situation by offering to fix the planter.

Elsewhere, Donna-Marie goes round to see Romeo with the video that Juliet left her, but after seeing just how much Romeo is going through, she changes her mind about showing it to him.

Leela Lomax later plans to meet with Donna-Marie but gets a text saying she won't join her for tea. Although Joel Dexter tries to tell her she needs some space, Leela is worried.

She eventually gets Joel and Romeo to help force their way into the gym after no one can locate Donna-Marie. They find her overdosing again.

At the hospital, James is furious that Donna-Marie didn't tell her family that she was struggling. Romeo then admits that Donna-Marie visited last night, but he was too preoccupied.

Speaking about Leela's reaction to the overdose, her actress Kirsty-Leigh Porter said: "It's absolutely heart-breaking for Donna-Marie... and Leela sees this and sees her struggle so she really tries to keep [to her] promise to Juliet and look after her."

She continued: "It's a really beautiful friendship between Donna-Marie and Leela. They become the best of friends... We don't know where this friendship is going to go. With Donna-Marie being a recovering addict, it's very hard for her to stay focused, but people need to stay tuned because there's lots of stuff that happens.

"Lucy-Jo [Hudson, who plays Donna-Marie] is incredible. She gets better and better every time I come on set.

"We need to stay tuned to see where [this] one goes. I hope it goes well, but I can't say for certain that it does, but the scenes that we've been doing are really incredible scenes, and it's just been really nice to work with her."

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
