Diane has set up a blind date for Scott and John Paul, who are less than enthusiastic when they find out.

Seeing John Paul having fun on his date with Scott, Carter apologises to Maxine for ignoring her after their time together. He invites her to the school's staff Christmas party as his date, but not before he takes more painkillers.

When the news hits Freya about her dad's love life via Mason, she's taken aback and John Paul discovers her crying at school. Upset that she doesn't know her dad very well, John Paul tries to help Freya, but he only makes things worse.

Worried about Hunter, Sally suggests to Goldie that they go and speak to Carter about him returning to work. A conversation with Carter is cut short when his distressed daughter Freya disturbs them. Sally is relieved to see Carter's back is seemingly better.

Meanwhile, covering up why she has been so distracted while helping her mum on an art project, Yazz says she's preparing for her and Jack's podcast. Wanting to return the favour, Misbah tries to access her daughter's phone, leaving Yazz panicking and blurting out some harsh words to her mum.

Elsewhere, at Price Slice, Zoe and Pearl encourage Felix to continue with his life and respect Mercedes' wishes. When Warren overhears, he's left shocked that his best friend is giving up on Mercedes. Trying to cover up his true feelings, when confronted, Warren tells Zoe that his interest in finding Mercedes is due to his concern over Felix's mental health.

China anchors 'monster ship' in South China Sea, Philippine coast guard says
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Saturday that China's largest coastguard vessel has anchored in Manila's exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the South China Sea, and is meant to intimidate its smaller Asian neighbour. The China coastguard's 165-meter 'monster ship' entered Manila's 200-nautical mile EEZ on July 2, spokesperson for the PCG Jay Tarriela told a news forum. The PCG warned the Chinese vessel it was in the Philippine's EEZ and asked about their intentions, he said.
