Hollyoaks' James to be caught out over Lucas over Christmas

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

James Nightingale will be caught out over his treatment of Lucas in Hollyoaks' Christmas episodes.

In scenes that have yet to play out on screen, the lawyer will resort to physically striking Lucas as he continues to feud with his stepson. He had previously locked Lucas in a shed overnight to teach him a lesson.

The fallout of James's horrific actions will take place over the festive period, when Ste is alarmed by something Lucas says about James while he's drunk.

Ste turns to James for answers on what Lucas may have meant, leading James to confess everything about the way he's tried to discipline the teenager.

The situation spirals out of control when Leela Lomax learns what James did and they have a blowout row that turns physical at The Dog.

In the aftermath of James's confession, Ste warns him their future is up to Lucas since the barrister had broken the family's trust in him.

Ste goes to speak to Lucas about James's actions, only to discover that his son isn't in his bedroom and the window has been left open.

The family grow more worried the longer Lucas is missing, leading James to realise that it's his responsibility to bring the teen home after the way he'd mistreated him.

Later, James confides in Ste that he's signed up for anger management classes as a way to prove that he's putting his family first.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
