Hollyoaks' Juliet Nightingale to reveal the truth about cancer diagnosis in Christmas episodes

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

It’s been a rough time for Juliet Nightingale on Hollyoaks lately, and it’s about to get more emotional for her over the Christmas period.

In last week’s episodes, Juliet was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and the time has come for her to reveal all to her close friends.

In scenes that will air from Monday (December 19), Juliet will undergo her first chemotherapy treatment, but she is initially reluctant to disclose her news to her friends and family.

With Juliet being conflicted over her feelings for both Nadira and Peri, she tells each that she is thinking of patching things up with the other.

On Christmas Day, both Nadira and Peri are eager to find out why Juliet has been lying to them, leading to tensions in the village.

Knowing that she has to tell them the truth, Juliet organises a meeting with Peri, but Nadira comes along and gets into an argument with the latter.

With a cacophony of noise surrounding her, Juliet blurts out her diagnosis, leaving the quarrelling pair initially stunned.

Peri, however, doesn’t believe a word of it, accusing Juliet of lying before angrily storming off. Nadira is much more understanding, offering to support Juliet through this tricky time.

Enlisting the help of James, Nadira urges Juliet to confess to her mother, but she is undecided on whether she wants to share the news at the Christmas table….

Actress Niamh Blackshaw recently spoke about Juliet’s arc, saying that she was “grateful and appreciative” of the response to the storyline.

“There was a massive response – I was really surprised and taken aback," she said. "Sometimes you forget how much characters are loved by the fans. I was happy to get such a great response, and I'm really excited to see how this all plays out.”

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
