Hollyoaks' Leela Lomax takes drastic action in Donna-Marie story

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Tonight's (August 1) episode of Hollyoaks saw Leela Lomax take drastic action after Donna-Marie Quinn accidentally set fire to Leela's home following a drug relapse.

After spotting a fire at the Lomaxes and calling the fire service for help, Joel ran into the burning building and dragged a passed out Donna-Marie out of harm's way.

At the hospital, when Donna-Marie was taken off in a wheelchair to be treated for smoke inhalation, Joel told the doctors that Donna-Marie had been using again.

Impressed with Joel's heroic rescue of her friend, Leela told Joel he did an amazing job while a heartbroken Romeo said he should have been there for his grieving mum.

"Donna-Marie is a grown woman and the only person responsible for this disaster is Donna-Marie," an indifferent James told Leela, Joel and Romeo.

Meanwhile, Joel panicked about having tests done that would reveal his Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis to Leela and Sharon urged Joel to talk to Leela about his secret.

Back in Donna-Marie's room at the hospital, Leela questioned why she went to score drugs again.

"Honestly, I just felt lost and abandoned," Donna-Marie told Leela and Romeo before confessing that she had stolen money from Peri's purse to obtain drugs.

Following an apology from his mum, Romeo called her a liar and stormed out of the hospital saying he didn't believe her and Joel gave Leela an ultimatum - Donna-Marie or him.

Later, after Donna-Marie left Leela's, Leela took her to the gym telling her she could stay there for the night.

As Donna-Marie sat down, Leela ran off and locked the door telling Donna-Marie to go through cold turkey and a screaming Donna-Marie begged to be let out.
