Hollyoaks' Nancy and Darren to get devastating news about baby Morgan

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Nancy and Darren will get devastating news about baby Morgan in Hollyoaks.

Viewers know that Jessica Fox's temporary on-screen departure from the Channel 4 soap is looming because she went on maternity leave ahead of son River's arrival this week.

The soap has piled on the pressure for Nancy in recent weeks, as she's been forced to take severe disciplinary action against Charlie as the school's new headteacher.

In upcoming scenes airing next week, Brooke Hathaway intervenes in the growing feud between Nancy and Charlie to bring the latter home.

The teens turn to Darren for help making a cake, only for their plans to be put on hold when Charlie makes the frightening discovery that baby Morgan's foot has turned blue.

Sienna joins Nancy and Darren in waiting for updates on baby Morgan, with doctors later explaining that the child has circulatory problems.

Nancy has no choice but to get back to work as doctors continue to examine Morgan, leading to a big row when Darren can't get hold of her with the latest updates.

The couple end up at odds once again as Nancy returns to the hospital, though they put their beef aside for the benefit of the family.

Nancy still feels hopeless about her situation and hopes that a miracle will be able to help Morgan. While viewers will have to watch to find out what happens, Fox has already teased an emotional departure.

"The cast, crew and people on the floor [at Hollyoaks] have really got me through the last few months as Nancy [has] been very busy and has quite the emotional exit!" she wrote on social media.

"Always there with genuine interest and concern, water, [a] hot water bottle for my back, the offer of help and a chair to plonk my pregnant behind on. I appreciate every single one of you. You are the best."

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
