Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Wednesday's (November 1) episode on Channel 4 streaming, which doesn't air on E4 until Thursday (November 2).
Hollyoaks has aired scenes showing Romeo Nightingale and Peri Lomax growing even closer after the previous episode's bombshell revelation.
Both Romeo and Peri have been accused of the murder of Rayne Royce, Romeo's girlfriend. While they've constantly maintained their innocence, there was something they did that night they're desperate to keep secret — and we now know is that they were sleeping together.
Despite the fact that Romeo was with Rayne, and Peri was with Romeo's sister Juliet until her tragic death from cancer, Wednesday's episode showed that they can't deny their attraction to each other.
Unsurprisingly, Nadira Valli and Lizzie Chen-Williams had a go at the pair for their revelation, but they still decided to go ahead and tell his dad James and Peri's mum Lee.
James reacted even worse, shouting: "It's an abomination is what it is, Juliet's only been gone a few months and you couldn't keep your grubby hands off each other. Have I got my dates wrong or were you sleeping together while she was dying of cancer?!"
Leela tried to defuse the situation by stating it took guts to admit it, and it must have only happened because they were both grieving — something Peri agreed with.
Later, on their own, the two admitted that weren't thinking about Juliette in the moment, but they've been through so much together and can't let anyone tell them how they should feel. Peri went in for another kiss, but Romeo pulled away.
Ste and Leela then walked in and told them the situation would calm down and James would come around. Leela then remarked that it wasn't like the two were going to sleep together again.
Of course, in a further scene, Peri and Romeo met up again and, after saying that Juliet would want to see them happy, they kissed again...
"We just need to stick together," Peri said. "No matter what."
"No matter what," Romeo repeated.
Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
