Hollyoaks has shared goodbye messages following two major cast exits on the soap.

Tonight’s (June 29) episode saw Zara Morgan and Damon Kinsella leave the village for greener pastures following the botched bank heist, with Kelly Condron and Jacob Roberts departing the soap after two and six-year stints respectively.

The social media channels for the Channel 4 soap shared a post for each of its departing stars, with the tweet for Condron reading: “Zara has officially left the village! It's safe to say, she has brought us so many memories here in #Hollyoaks and will forever be our icon!

“Thank you to Kelly for bringing Zara to our screens. We will miss you so much, and good luck for everything the future holds,” they added.

“Get together and say goodbye to the man, the legend, Damon! He has given us endless entertainment, laughter and tears on our screens, and we will never forget him! Thank you Jacob, for bringing us this amazing character who we've all loved for so long! #Hollyoaks,” they said about Roberts.

Both Zara’s and Damon’s departures were facilitated by the failed bank heist, which also included Cindy Cunningham and Grace Black. The latter subsequently took the fall for the job after the group were arrested, saying goodbye to son Curtis as she prepared for a stint behind bars.

Elsewhere on the soap, Sam Chen-Williams’ behaviour has taken a turn for the worse following his break-up with Zoe Williams, with his obsessive demeanour leading to disastrous consequences.

“He's gone through a series of abandonments, from his biological mum's death and Honour leaving. He doesn't want any more broken relationships, and everything's taken a massive toll on him,” said actor Matthew McGivern of his character’s arc. “Sam was so frightened at the thought of losing everything, the way he acted was purely out of desperation.”

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
