Hollyoaks star Annie Wallace has promised that her character Sally will have a ‘reboot’ after her shock sacking on the soap.

Sally is sacked from her position at school due to a series of scandals unfolding with the pupils with the most recent one being of pupil Vicky becoming hospitalised due to a drug overdose.

Now, in an interview with Inside Soap, the actress has explained what will happen with Sally post-sacking and how her character will be going through a ‘reboot.’

“Initially she’s depressed and doesn’t know what to do with her life; this job has defined her. The family becomes much more of a priority, she’ll be putting her foot down and trying to keep them out of trouble. I’m not saying they’re going to listen to her, but she’s going to try!,” she said.

“Keeping John Paul off the booze will be tough. On the other hand we’ll also see the funnier side of Sally as she gets involved with the chaos in the McQueen house. It’s a reboot for the character and I’m excited for the change,” she added.

Speaking about the moment her character finds out she’s getting fired, Annie says Sally is not expecting it.

“She thought she’d just get a rap on the knuckles, maybe the school would go on special measures for a bit, but when she is told she has a spectacular meltdown,” she said.

Asked whether she thinks her character deserves to keep her job, Annie kept it neutral: “She’s a great head teacher with the kids but not so much when it comes to handling a crisis. The governors want a clean start to scrub the scandal away.”

“Sally hasn’t necessarily brought everything on herself, she’s been a victim in many ways. But so many bad things have happened in the school under her watch…,” she added.
