Hollyoaks star Daisy Wood-Davis expecting second child

Former Hollyoaks star Daisy Wood-Davis has announced that she is expecting her second child with husband Majid Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy.

The pair, who played Kim Butterfield and Jesse Donovan respectively on the Channel 4 soap, married in 2022 after beginning a relationship in 2016, with the couple welcoming their first child in September 2021.

Daisy, who left the soap in 2018, took to Instagram to reveal that the happy couple were expecting again, with the news being unveiled at the end of a video which detailed their relationship.

"Wait till the end to see a big surprise," read the caption. "Today marks 8 years together and 2 years married (we got married on our anniversary) and what a journey we are on… I really don't know how I got so lucky.

"Also want to send a message out to all our friends and family who came to our wedding. We love you all so much and are still blown away by all of you coming & bringing the biggest party to the south of Spain! A new adventure begins."

Hollyoaks stars past and present were among those congratulating the couple on their announcement, with Mandip Gill celebrating "such beautiful news".

"Now the fun really begins!!" Nadine Mulkerrin added. "Yaaay... wild how a cuddle can turn into more family members... congrats guys!!! Asa has been promoted to big bro!!"

Jessica Ellis wrote: "Nooooooooo it's not two years since the best day of our lives... love you both! And how lucky a new little person gets to come into your wonderful families."

"Two years ago was the best wedding I have ever been to!!" added Rachel Adedeji. "Love you both! Congratulations again."

Since leaving Hollyoaks, Daisy has appeared on Holby City and played Carole King in Beautiful, the musical inspired by the singer-songwriter's early life and work.

Majid, who left Hollyoaks in early 2020, went on to appear in season 3 of Starz show The Girlfriend Experience and starred on stage in The Shape of Things last year. He was most recently seen in Doctor Who episode 'Boom' as Carson.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
