Hollyoaks star Owen Warner made major spoilers blunder on I'm A Celebrity

Hollyoaks star Owen Warner has revealed he made a massive blunder during his time on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The star, who plays Romeo Nightingale on the Channel 4 soap, took part in the ITV reality show last year, eventually finishing in second place behind Jill Scott.

During his time in the jungle, the actor accidentally spoiled elements of the soap when he was talking to a campmate, and had to request the scenes be removed from the edit as a result.

"You feel safe to chat about anything, which can be dangerous," he told Hits UK (via PlanetRadio). "I remember I was once down at the creek with Jill, and she asked me what had happened to [Romeo] whilst I was in the jungle, because they've had to write me out.

"I said, 'Jill, sit down and brace yourself', and then I told her the whole plot – how Romeo broke up with his girlfriend, decided to catch a flight to Spain and win her back. I told her everything – spoilers for months!"

"Then later on, she asked Sue Cleaver, 'What happened to your character on Coronation Street?' and Sue said: 'Actually Jill, I can't tell you because it hasn't aired on TV yet!' I was like, 'Oh, neither has mine and I've just given away months' worth of spoilers!'" he added.

"Needless to say I ran to the Bush Telegraph and asked them not to air any of it. Say what you like about my inability to keep a secret, but at least you'll always get a juicy exclusive from me!"

The most recent series of I'm a Celebrity began at the weekend, with the roster including Warner's Hollyoaks co-star Nick Pickard, Josie Gibson, Fred Sirieix, Sam Thompson and Jamie Lynn Spears.

I'm a Celebrity… airs on ITV1 and ITVX. Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
