Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring explains Luke Morgan return twist

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring has spoken about her character Cindy's upcoming storyline and teased the return of Luke Morgan.

Luke passed away last summer after falling off a cliff in Mallorca while suffering from frontotemporal dementia, but Gary Lucy recently returned to filming to reprise the role.

Speaking about this twist, Stephanie said: "Ahh, Gary Lucy. When I said goodbye I never thought he would ever be back, but thanks to Cindy this has been made possible.

"I’m really looking forward to the fans seeing how we tackled this. It is nostalgic but also very very sad."

Digital Spy understands that Luke will not be back from the dead but will appear in some other form, most likely as part of Cindy's mental health story being revisited.

Scenes set to air next week will see Tom panic when he discovers his sister Cindy has missed her six-month bipolar appointment. Sharon advises Tom to speak to Cindy and Cindy's doctor, especially if Cindy's behaviour becomes concerning.
