Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring teases "unexpected" Cindy future

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring has discussed what is in store for her character Cindy Cunningham.

Recent weeks have seen Cindy take increasingly drastic measures in her attempts to save the Grande Bazaar after Norma Crow and Warren Fox's car crash.

Running out of time and money, Cindy hatches a risky plan to turn herself into a modern-day Robin Hood. She decides to rob a bank, a move that threatens to land her, Zara Morgan and Grace Black in serious trouble.

Speaking to Inside Soap, Stephanie gave fans a hint at what's to come.

"This is the start of a spiral, and I don't think anyone will know where the story is going to go next. All I'll say is, you should expect the unexpected," she said.

Cindy's outlandish plan is quickly derailed after Grace and Zara are arrested during a protest, leaving her with some tough decisions to make.

Despite her determination to see the plan through, Stephanie doesn't believe this is the start of a new direction for Cindy.

"I don't think she's got it in her. Cindy can be ruthless and likes to think she's hard, but she's not evil," she added, explaining that it doesn't fit with Cindy's personality to be a villain.

"There is a line she won't cross and she doesn't have a mean heart. I don't want her to go the full gangster, as I'd hate to lose that fun aspect of the character.

"And no way could she cope in prison, I can't really see her being top dog!"

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
