Hollywood Celebrates SAG-AFTRA & Studios Reaching Deal Putting An End To Actors Strike
SAG-AFTRA and the studios have finally reached a tentative deal on a new contract after pausing Hollywood for 118 days.
After news broke that the strike would effectively end as the clock ticks 12:01 a.m. PT on Nov. 9, some of the outspoken guild members took to social media to celebrate.

Harris Dickinson and Zac Efron found out that SAG-AFTRA had reached an agreement with the studios while on the red carpet of The Iron Claw premiere.

The Producer’s Guild of America issued a statement congratulating SAG- AFTRA “for their unwavering dedication in reaching an agreement with the studios. We eagerly look forward to collaborating with our fellow writers, actors and director as we collectively work towards revitalizing our industry and returning to work.”

California Governor Gavin Newsom weighed in:
“For over 100 days, actors have been fighting for better wages and the health and pension benefits they deserve. This tentative agreement will benefit our economy statewide and kickstart a new wave of exciting projects. I am thankful that we can now get this iconic industry back to work, not only for our writers and actors, but also the more than two million workers who power our world-class entertainment sector.”

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass issued her own statement. It reads:
“I am grateful that a fair agreement has been reached between SAG-AFTRA and AMPTP after a more than 100 day strike that impacted millions in Los Angeles and throughout the country. Those on the line have been the hardest hit during this period and there have been ripple effects throughout our entire city. Today’s tentative agreement is going to impact nearly every part of our economy. Now, we must lean in on local production to ensure that our entertainment industry rebounds stronger than ever and our economy is able to get back on its feet.”
