Home and Away celebrates major triumph at the Logie Awards

Home and Away has been awarded a prestigious prize at this weekend's Logie Awards.

The biggest night in Aussie TV has crowned the soap in the Most Popular Drama Series, Miniseries or Telemovie category, and the huge cast took to the stage to celebrate the achievement.

Actress Georgie Parker, who plays Roo Stewart on the soap, delivered the acceptance speech, giving a shoutout to the other nominees and those who are creating "incredible drama and comedy" Down Under.

"Australian drama and comedy and the moment is firing," she said.

Parker continued by thanking the show's crew, saying: "You make every day worthwhile."

She also thanked the cast's families "who let us go for so many hours every day" and the huge fanbase.

"To our fans, near and far," she said, noting how "some of you has been with us for multiple decades."

"Thank you to all our amazing #HomeandAway fans, we have won the Silver Logie for Most Popular Drama Series," the official Instagram account for Home and Away posted in the wake of the show's win.

"We couldn't have done it without you."

Home and Away received other five nominations at the Logies.

James Stewart (Justin Morgan) and Ray Meagher (Alf Stewart) were in the running for Most Popular Actor, while Ada Nicodemou (Leah Patterson), Emily Symons (Marilyn Chambers), and Lynne McGranger (Irene Roberts) competed in the Most Popular Actress category.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus.
