Home and Away's Courtney Miller pays tribute to Kawakawa Fox-Reo after double exit

Home and Away star Courtney Miller has shared a sweet tribute to Kawakawa Fox-Reo following the latter's exit from the soap.

Nikau Parata departed from Summer Bay in Australian-broadcast scenes this week (set to air in the UK in April), which also saw the brief return of Courtney's character Bella Nixon – who herself departed last year.

During the scenes, Nikau confessed the truth about their break-up, revealing he was trying to protect her from the biker gang that were targeting the Paratas, and while she accepted being friends again, Nikau was left upset when she excluded him from her goodbye dinner.

She admitted that she didn’t want to endure a painful goodbye with him again, which led them to spending the night together. He then decided to move to New York with her, with the pair leaving for the US together.

Following the broadcast of the scenes, Courtney shared a sweet picture of herself with her co-star as she paid tribute to Kawakawa.

"Bye to our beautiful Nikau @kawa_f_r," she captioned the snap. "These past three and a bit years were a fun ride. It was so effortless for Bella to Love you. You’ll be missed NY BABY! #nellaforever".

Kawakawa's depature from the soap was first reported last year, with the star apparently keen to pursue other projects. He has been a regular part of the series as Nikau since 2019.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus.
