When Marilyn threatens to tell Alf the truth, Roo is forced to relent, though their friendship is as strained as ever.

Roo is mad at Marilyn for having lied about Stunning Organics' dealings, a move that ultimately put her friends' lives at risk. A bomb was planted in Marilyn's van and detonated when John was behind the wheel, hurling Roo to the side of the road and leaving her badly injured.

Speaking with TV Week, Roo actress Georgie Parker explained her character's complicated feelings dealing with Marilyn in the wake of the blast.

"Roo was trying to help Maz in her involvement with Stunning Organics," she said.

"But because she kept lying about it, she found it hard to know what was happening – or how resolved Maz was to finish with the pyramid scheme."

After the accident, Marilyn was so ashamed of herself she never visited Roo when she was in hospital for three months, leaving her friend feeling neglected.

"Maz didn't go to see Roo, so she felt abandoned and resentful," Parker said.
