Home and Away's Tane Parata to confront his cousin Kahu

Home and Away spoilers follow from Australian pace episodes, which some UK viewers may prefer to avoid.

Home and Away's Tane Parata will finally confront his cousin Kahu over his repeated lies.

Kahu's arrival in the Bay had already gotten off to a rocky start, with his presence seemingly driving a wedge between newlyweds Tane and Felicity. Tane had also become suspicious of his cousin's request to borrow money from him, which Kahu had said was to help him out of financial trouble.

However, in scenes which will air this week in Australia and next month in the UK, Kahu finds himself forced to come clean to his cousin after Tane catches him in another lie.

Following their heart to heart, Tane is feeling positive about their future relationship – until Kahu fails to show up to work at the gym.

Tane's suspicions increase after he receives a phone call alerting him that someone has paid for the rental of a houseboat on the company credit card. Suspecting Kahu, he tracks down the houseboat and forces his cousin to come clean once and for all.

Backed into a corner, Kahu finally admits that he has found himself unable to pay his spiralling debts after borrowing money to chase his dream. Worse still, his mum has also taken out a loan in order to try and support him.

Tane then orders an ashamed Kahu to come clean to his mother, offering to accompany him to New Zealand in order to break the news.

Kahu actor Jordi Webber recently spoke to TV Week about his character's storyline, revealing that Kahu's actions are partially down to neglect.

"On the surface, Kahu is smiles and fun, but behind the smile there's some neglect and pain. He grew up with a single mother and has been spoilt by her," he said.

"[He] has a lot to figure out at first, and needs to right a lot of his wrongs. But after that, I think there's a really good man there."

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus.

Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.
