Hong Ling and Nick Teo getting married in private ceremony on 15 Dec
The Singapore celebrity couple said they would only be inviting those they were 'closer to' as the 'beautiful' venue 'cannot accommodate that many people'.
Celebrity couple Hong Ling and Nick Teo are getting married in three months.
The couple, whose wedding looks poised to be the social event of the year for local showbiz, made the announcement on their respective Instagram accounts on Tuesday (19 Sept).
Speaking to local media, they revealed that the ceremony will be held on 15 Dec, but it will be a private event, and they are keeping the location secret.
Teo, 34, told CNA Lifestyle, “The venue is very beautiful. It's what Hong Ling wanted. We didn't really go to many venues to check them out… we decided on the spot that that would be it.”
As for the guest list, well, it will be somewhat exclusive, as not every celebrity is invited to attend. In other words, it won’t be like a Star Awards event.
Teo explained to 8world, “We just invited celebrity friends and colleagues we’re closer to, those who we hang out with privately. We’re sorry to those who weren’t invited but the venue really cannot accommodate that many people.”
The wedding will be hosted by YES 933 DJ Jeff Goh, who Teo said is more anxious about the progress of the wedding planning.
“He’ll ask us what’s the itinerary, what arrangements we have in mind… but we don’t have any plans at the moment,” Teo confessed.
Indeed, there is a laundry list of things to do before the wedding, which the couple delayed from October to December to give them more time. Some things on the list include their vows, march-in song, outfit changes, and the food.
As for where they’ll go on their honeymoon, Teo said he’ll like to go to Switzerland, though he didn’t expect Hong Ling to also harbour the same thought.
“However, after talking to a few friends, they feel that Africa is more suitable for us,” he told 8world, adding that the wildlife and environment there is more suitable to their travelling style of exploring places.
Unfortunately, the lovebirds will need to wait a little while before they can jet off on their honeymoon.
Teo said, “We have new shows to film at the end of the year, so we might go [for the honeymoon] in April or May 2024.”
