Honkai: Star Rail reveals Jingliu as new 5-star likely coming in version 1.4
Jingliu will wield the Ice element and follow the Path of Destruction, having been the swordmaster of the Xianzhou Luofu and the master of Jing Yuan.
Honkai: Star Rail developer HoYoverse announced on Tuesday (15 August) that one of the new 5-star characters coming in version 1.4 will be none other than Jingliu!
Jingliu will wield the Ice element and follow the Path of Destruction, being the sixth character to join the game’s roster of both Ice and Destruction characters.

Jingliu is one of the strongest swordsmen in the history of the Xianzhou Alliance, having been bestowed the title of ‘Transcendent Flash', and was the leader of the ‘High-Cloud Quintet’, a legendary group of five heroes from the Alliance. Its other members included the Xianzhou Luofu’s Arbiter General Jing Yuan; the craftsman Yingxing, the man who would later become the Stellaron Hunter Blade; Dan Feng, the previous incarnation of Dan Heng and Imbibitor Lunae; and an unknown Foxian girl.
Jingliu first appeared briefly in the ‘Interstellar Journey’ release trailer before taking on a prominent role in the animated short ‘The Flash’, where she was revealed to have been the swordmaster of the Xianzhou Luofu and the master of Jing Yuan.
However, she was struck by mara and escaped the worldship while leaving a trail of bodies behind her. Jing Yuan would later confront Jingliu and defeat his former master, though her fate was left unknown.
Jingliu then made her first in-game appearance in version 1.1, where she appears in Yanqing’s Companion Mission in pursuit of Blade before humbling Jing Yuan’s erstwhile lieutenant.
Jingliu has become quite the fan-favourite character from what brief appearances she’s had so far.
At first, she appears as a delicate woman with white hair and a blindfold over her eyes. However, she strikes an imposing figure once she gives in to the bloodlust caused by her mara, taking off her blindfold to reveal blood-red eyes that will be the last thing her enemies see before being overwhelmed by a storm of ice and sword strikes.
Jingliu will be one of the new 5-star characters debuting in Honkai: Star Rail version 1.4, which is expected to be released in early October.
Honkai: Star Rail is currently in the second half of version 1.2, featuring the beautiful Stellaron Hunter Kafka as the featured 5-star. After version 1.2 comes 1.3, which will be released on 30 August and features Imbibitor Lunae and Fu Xuan as new 5-star characters as well as Lynx Landau as the new 4-star.
