The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is heading our way in November, and we finally have a new trailer which you can check out above.

Hunger Games fans have had to wait patiently since April (when the first trailer was unveiled) for another look at the upcoming prequel movie, which is set 64 years before the first movie.

Among the many throwbacks in the trailer is the use of 'The Hanging Tree', sung by Katniss in Mockingjay. Fans will know from the Songbirds & Snakes book that it was created by Lucy Gray Baird.

The release of the new trailer today (September 20) suggests that the movie will still be released on November 17 as planned, despite some other blockbusters – such as Dune: Part Two – being delayed due to the strikes.

The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes centres on an 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth, taking on the role played by Donald Sutherland in the previous movies) as he attempts to save his family's legacy.

Snow signs up to mentor Rachel Zegler's Lucy Gray Baird in the upcoming tenth Hunger Games, seeing Lucy's charm as a chance to change his life.

Combining their skills of showmanship and political savvy, Coriolanus and Lucy Gray face a race against time to survive and potentially change both of their lives forever.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, who directed Catching Fire and both parts of the Mockingjay finale, The Ballad of Songbirds & Snake stars Peter Dinklage, Jason Schwartzman, Hunter Schafer and Viola Davis alongside Blyth and Zegler.

Previously speaking about being cast in the role of Lucy Gray Baird, Zegler said she initially turned down the role but later "regretted it".

"I had another project lined up that fell through that got pushed into 2023 and I just kind of put my name back into the mix and got it, and I feel really bad for any of the girls [who when] I put my name back in and they were just like: 'Yup, OK, cool, we'll do it'."

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is released in cinemas on November 17.
