Idris and Sabrina Elba Practice Self-Care by Showering Together: ‘We Have Some Really Funny Memories’ (Exclusive)

The couple tied the knot during a three-day wedding extravaganza in April 2019

Idris and Sabrina Elba have a special way to bond as a couple.

"I love showering together, although we have some really funny memories showering together," Sabrina, 35, tells PEOPLE exclusively as she and her husband are named ambassadors for Calvin Klein's iconic Eternity fragrance franchise.

"We have two sinks, separate sinks, side by side. And it's funny because we're doing the exact same thing because we started a skincare brand [S'ABLE Labs]. We're both using exact same products," she continues. "He does it really fast, I'm like, 'Hold on, my toner is still setting.' But we do the, 'OK, he's there. I'm here.' It feels like it's part of our day."

"When we can get up at the same time and someone doesn't have to be up super early, it's really nice, because we can get into the shower and enjoy that moment, have a coffee together, which doesn't feel like it happens enough, unfortunately," Sabrina adds. "I think selfless self-care when it's with community and your partner and with anyone feels really nice."

Idris and Sabrina first met at a party in Vancouver while the actor was filming The Mountain Between Us.

"It was love at first sight," Idris said during an appearance on The View. "I went out on my only day off, true story, it was a Sunday night, I went to this party and there she was. The rest is history."

He later proposed to a stunned Sabrina at the Rio Cinema in London in February 2018. The cinema confirmed the news, writing in a post on X, formerly Twitter, "Another @riocinema first! Still 5 days to Valentine's Day but @idriselba went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend live on stage this morning before a preview of his film #Yardie."

The couple then tied the knot during a three-day wedding extravaganza in April 2019. "I think getting married to my beautiful wife was the best thing to happen to me in 2019," Idris later told PeopleTV on a red carpet. "We had our entire families there, so that was just incredible."

According to Sabrina, one thing she loves about her husband is the way he smells.

"Idris has a musk that he uses as a body oil, and anyone that knows him knows that's his smell," she tells PEOPLE. "I love it. It embodies him to me."

As for his style, Sabrina says, "Idris for sure is effortless, timeless and sexy to me. He doesn't even have to lift a finger. He just walks out the door, this confident sexy guy. He can be in a pair of flip-flops and sweats, and I'm just like, 'Wow, you're going to make best-dressed lists.' And he always does, he's effortless."

Idris, for his part, adds of his wife, "I think Sabrina is fresh because she loves the newest and coolest. And she's elegant no matter what she puts on, whether it's sweatpants or a ball gown, she looks elegant."
