The former health secretary entered the jungle on Wednesday's episode (9 November) along with comedian Seann Walsh, who revealed he had a tattoo in tribute to Blink 182 on his neck.
Asked who his favourite band was Hancock, 44, replied: “Quite mainstream… I’m not going to put a tattoo of Ed Sheeran on my neck.”
Walsh asked: “You like Ed Sheeran?”
Hancock said: “Love him, yeah… and I’m from Suffolk as well.”

The elected MP for West Suffolk then started singing Ed Sheeran's hit Perfect: “You between my arms… bare foot on the grass… don’t get me singing, I'm terrible… listening to my favourite song…… What’s it called? Perfect! I love it.”
Host Ant McPartlin exclaimed: "I can't believe Matt Hancock is actually in camp!"
Declan Donnelly added: "I tell you who else can't believe it Ed Sheeran."
Viewers were quick to observe the connection was an embarrassing one for the singer.
One said: "Wonder how much Ed Sheeran would pay for Matt Hancock to NOT get a tattoo of him."
Another said: "@edsheeran getting name checked by @MattHancock. We all feel for you Ed #ImACeleb"

And Ed Sheeran fans were not happy either.

Another shared: "Everyone removing Ed Sheeran from their Spotify after finding out Matt Hancock is a fan #ImACeleb."
And one viewer observed: "Matt Hancock saying he likes Ed Sheeran has such “dad trying to sound cool” vibes that it hurts. #ImACeleb"
Hancock and Walsh took part in their first trial - Beastly Burrows - crawling though tunnels filled with slurry and cockroaches to collect stars to earn meals for the camp.
They only managed to collect six out of 11 stars.
