I'm A Celeb 2023 viewing figures drop by two million for opening
I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!'s viewership has dropped by two million for the opening night.
Overnight ratings have revealed that the 23rd season premiere (November 20) has been watched by seven million viewers, experiencing a significant drop from last year's season.
I'm A Celeb attracted 9.1 million viewers for its opening episode in 2022, with this new instalment — whose cast includes former UKIP leader Nigel Farage and Britney Spears' sister Jamie Lynn Spears — lagging behind.

The line-up is rounded out by Made in Chelsea's Sam Thompson, This Morning host Josie Gibson, First Dates maître d' Fred Sirieix, social media influencer Nella Rose, food critic Grace Dent, JLS singer and presenter Marvin Humes, former EastEnders actress Danielle Harold and Hollyoaks veteran Nick Pickard.
In the opening show, I'm A Celeb did something a little different compared to previous seasons, dropping Nella, Nigel and Josie into the Australian outback rather than the Gold Coast. The three of them were left to complete trials in the desert's scorching weather to win more time for the jungle gang to take on their own tasks.

The trio managed to get six stars, meaning the remaining celebrities in the camp could enjoy a 10/10 star dinner, with Fred making paella for the entire group.
After the first episode, both Nigel and Nella were selected by the public to undergo the second Bushtucker Trial of the season. Called The Jungle Pizzeria, this dreaded eating challenge is set to air tonight (November 20).
I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues 20 November at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
