Imagining Potential Sponsors Pepsi on a Barcelona Shirt

FC Barcelona are reportedly in advanced talks with multinational beverage company PepsiCo to replace Qatar Airways as shirt sponsors for the 2016/2017 season, according to Spanish newspaper Sport.

The blaugrana have had Qatar Airways and its parent organisation Qatar Foundation as shirt sponsors since 2012, but talks between existing partner Qatar Airways have allegedly broken down with the airline unwilling to meet Barca’s €65m asking price.

Qatar has attracted negative press over human rights violations, with scores of foreign labourers being mistreated while having their passports retained by employers. Claims like that haven’t bode well with Barca fans.

A €65m shirt sponsorship is right up there with the best, with Manchester United getting around €60m from Chevrolet.

While loyal culés often object to having shirt sponsors, having one should be imperative to next season’s plans as the club struggles to match the wages of its attacking trio.

With aesthetics in mind, redditor u/yeezays today posted three probable ways the home shirt might look:

This is 2014/2015′s home shirt template, so its just an imagination of what Pepsi’s name/logo might do to the blaugrana.

Here are my thoughts on the three designs:

1) The cleanest look of the three, but it remains to be seen if PepsiCo will be content with leaving out its logo after paying such a hefty sum to Barcelona.

2) The colours on Pepsi’s logo is jarring in this one.

3) If Pepsi decided to match its colours with Barcelona’s.
