Police in Indiana have identified a 35-year-old woman and her three children as the victims found shot inside a burning home, according to authorities.

Emergency personnel responded to the home in rural Jefferson County late afternoon Tuesday and found the home on fire, Sgt. Stephen Wheeles of the Indiana State Police said in a statement on Wednesday.

Inside, they found Briner and her children Adelia Briner, 12, Leland Briner, 8, and Iyla Briner, 6, according to the statement.

Police have said they don’t believe there is a threat to the public. They have not said who they believe might be responsible for the deaths.

On social media, Naomi, a nurse, documented her life with her children, including photos of moments of them enjoying the outdoors, or posing while dressed up, or simply riding in a car. Naomi also raised awareness about epilepsy, once sharing a photo of one of her children with the hashtag “EndEpilepsy.”

Lori Brinson, who lives across the street from the family, told WAVE 3 that she saw the mother of three last week and everything appeared "normal."

“I don’t know why your life was cut short, but I I know how much you love those children,” shared a fellow nurse on Facebook. “I know you will definitely be missed by your family and your friends they will have so many memories to remember you as the sweet, friendly loving person that you were.”

The investigation remains ongoing.
