Indonesian influencer Una Dembler apologises for spitting at woman in Bruno Mars concert queue in Singapore, says things were ‘lost in translation’

The influencer says she did not intentionally cut the queue and was simply waiting for a friend who had gone to the toilet.

Indonesian influencer Una Dembler, who was caught on video spitting at a Bruno Mars concertgoer in Singapore, has apologised for her behaviour. The incident happened in the queue for the standing pen area for Mars' concert on 5 April.

In the video posted by Tiktok user sabrinasimisai, Dembler can be seen gesturing and raising her voice at a couple. She then spits and walks away.

Explaining the situation, the TikTok user said she had called Dembler out for cutting the queue, as the influencer had sat “her buttocks down” in front of a guy in the queue.

When told that she was cutting the line, Dembler said she was “waiting for my friend”.

The TikTok user said they informed her that “this was the front of the queue”, and requested her to go to the back instead to wait for her friend.

This then apparently resulted in Dembler’s outburst and unsanitary actions, which were caught on camera.

In the video, Dembler can be seen pointing to the front saying “This boy is good”, referencing the man’s actions of telling her to move to the back of the queue.

She then accused the TikTok user of “throwing rice on my body”.

After the TikTok user rebutted her, she continued to insist that rice was thrown at her and then spat towards the TikTok user, before being pulled away from a friend who was off camera.

Although she had not been identified in the video, netizens quickly recognised her and left negative comments on all her social media accounts.

Una Dembler insists that she was just waiting for a friend

The following day, Dembler took to her Instagram stories to explain her side of the story as the video was “not 100 per cent true”.

She said that she had not intended to cut the line for the standing pen and was simply waiting for a friend who had gone to the bathroom.

She claimed that she didn’t want to move as they had agreed to meet up at that particular spot, which she did not know was the queue for the standing pen.

She said that she then felt rice being thrown at her hair and body several times, which is why she flared up, got “emotional and spat at her”.

She ended her statement in English saying, “I know I was wrong to spat on her, but I didn’t meant to cut the queue. I will learn from this and I really regret this happens. I’m sorry. (sic)”

The Tiktok user followed up with a second post, questioning the validity of Dembler’s claims, saying “If she claimed that people were throwing things at her multiple times, how is it that no one saw that?”.

She added that Dembler had still “stubbornly inched into our queue” even after being asked to wait elsewhere.

A subsequent post after that showed a screenshot of Dembler eventually reaching out via Instagram to apologise to the Tiktoker, saying that the dispute might have happened because she did not speak English well and things were “lost in translation”.
