Let's go to the movies
We don't hear that much anymore, do we? If box office numbers are any indication, the answer is no.
But back in 2017, moviegoers were reinvigorated by MoviePass, which allowed them to see one movie per day for $10 a month. They showed up in droves — but it was too good to be true.
It didn't take long for MoviePass to be run into the ground by two businessmen who pushed the company's founders out. This heartbreaking tale is detailed in HBO's newest documentary, "MoviePass, MovieCrash," based on Business Insider's reporting.
Jason Guerrasio, whose investigation is the basis of the documentary, told me it's more than a story about a business gone wrong.
"It's a redemption tale of two entrepreneurs' dreams of bringing much-needed innovation to the film business," Jason said.
Style tips for tech workers

Rich nap, poor nap
Sleep is one of the few things all humans have in common. We all need rest — typically seven to nine hours for adults — to function properly. And yet, much of the country is running on fumes.
Researchers have found economic stress can affect how well people sleep, with Americans in poverty reporting the least amount of sleep. So while money may not buy happiness, it does seem to buy better sleep.
Lessons from hair loss
After being diagnosed with androgenic alopecia at age 40, the author tried everything: Rogaine, supplements, new shampoos, and several different wigs.
But more than a year after her hair began falling out, things began getting easier. Since then, she's found that embracing her reality feels infinitely better than resisting it.
Tour a private village in Scottsdale
BI's reporter got a tour of Silverleaf Village, Scottsdale's most exclusive and expensive community. The elite area boasts Scottsdale's most expensive home, a $54 million mega-mansion.
She found a neighborhood consisting of sprawling villas and estates, as well as a private club with a spa, golf course, and pools.
