Russian forces lack the strength to achieve strategic successes in the border areas of Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts, as well as on the Belarusian front, said a spokesperson for Ukraine's State Border Guard Service Andriy Demchenko during a briefing, Ukrinform reported on June 12.

The situation on the Belarusian front is fully controlled, Andriy Demchenko, a spokesperson for Ukraine's State Border Guard Service, said. He noted that there are not enough Russian forces to launch an attack.

The Russians continue to actively try to advance deeper into Ukraine in Kharkiv Oblast, he added.

"Ukrainian Armed Forces are repelling attacks and inflicting damage so that the Russians cannot implement their plans," Demchenko said.

"Understanding the insidious nature of Russia and its desire to stretch our forces, we must be prepared for such actions in other areas as well. This includes not only Kharkiv Oblast, but also Sumy."

There have been no recent attempts by Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups to penetrate Ukraine on the Sumy front, he said.

Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov claimed on June 9 that his Akhmat Regiment troops had occupied the settlement of Ryzhivka in Sumy Oblast. However, local Ukrainian officials refuted this information, stating that there are no Russian troops in Ryzhivka and that the settlement remains under Ukrainian control.

The village is considered "no man's land," according to the DeepState monitoring group map. Due to its proximity to the Russian border, Ukrainian troops have not been stationed there since 2022.

Earlier, Ukrainian military spokesman Vadym Mysnyk said that Russia sends professional sabotage and reconnaissance groups to Ukraine’s northern border.
