Iowa-Colorado Leads ESPN To Most-Watched NCAA Women’s Sweet 16 Ever
Women’s basketball is heating up on ESPN.
The network just scored its most-watched NCAA Women’s Sweet 16 on record with 2.4M viewers across all games. That’s up 96% year-over-year, per Nielsen.

The Iowa Hawkeyes defeated the Colorado Buffaloes in the most-viewed Sweet 16 game, tallying a huge audience of 6.9M, making it the best Sweet 16 audience ever recorded and the second most-watched women’s college basketball game since 1995.
UCLA-LSU came in second place with 3.8M tuning in, which is still the second best Sweet 16 audience on record. UConn-Duke and Indiana-South Carolina rounded out the Top 4 games of this round of the tournament.
So far, the 2024 NCAA Division I Women’s Championship is averaging 1.1M viewers through this point, which is an uptick of 104% year-over-year.
