Islamic State expels residents in parts of Hasaka - Syrian state TV

BEIRUT (Reuters) - Islamic State fighters have been expelling residents in a district of Hasaka city in northeast Syria, Syrian state television said on Thursday. The jihadists evicted people from their homes in al-Nashwa district, it said. A monitoring group said earlier on Thursday that Islamic State fighters had seized areas of the city from government control in fighting overnight.
