Ivan Toney says he and Neal Maupay 'know how to rattle people' ahead of Brentford trip to Man City

Ivan Toney says he and Neal Maupay “know how to rattle people”, as Brentford prepare to face Manchester City at the Etihad.

City host Brentford knowing victory in their game in hand will move them above Arsenal into second place and to within a point of leaders Liverpool.

Brentford lost 3-1 at home to City two weeks ago but they won 2-1 at the Etihad last season when Toney scored two goals including a 98th-minute winner.

Toney has struck up a good strike partnership with Maupay since returning from his betting ban last month, the pair scoring seven goals between them in five games together.

Maupay has also been winding up opponents and has clashed with James Maddison and Kyle Walker.

Toney says is enjoying playing and causing mischief alongside Maupay and he believes the pair “know what we need to do to get in people's heads to help win games”.

“It's good to play next to a striker that knows your game, and I feel like Neal knows that already”, said Toney.

“I’m just buzzing for him to get his goals recently, because he deserves it.

“Playing up front with him is interesting. We both know what we need to do to win, and we both know what we need to do to rattle people, to get in people's heads, and to help win games.”
